OverstockedCars uses cookies to assign each visitor a unique numerical identification code on their device. The cookie doesn't actually identify the visitor — just the device the visitor uses to access our Platform. Cookies are used to track Platform usage and personalize your experience.

Digital Advertising, Web Session Recording Technologies & Web Analytics

OverstockedCars uses site-visit recording technologies, third-party cookies, beacons, tags, and scripts to collect the information categories described above and aggregated information from browser behavior. These technologies inform what content is effective, how consumers engage with our websites, and how they arrive at or depart from them. User-activity tracking uses (1) "tracking pixels" — executable code embedded in web pages that track usage activity, including pages viewed, when viewed, and duration — and (2) "clear gifs" — tiny graphics with unique identifiers embedded in web pages and emails that track whether users view them.

Google Analytics

Jornaya

We use Jornaya's site-visit recording technology, including Jornaya's TCPA Guardian, as applicable, to independently document users' consent to be contacted. The Jornaya script collects: page URL, mouse movements and clicks, inputted contact information, page snapshot, IP address, time on page, date and time the script loaded, date and time of user interactions, and HTTP headers. OverstockedCars reserves the right to remove or add new analytics technologies.

Unique Identifier

OverstockedCars may assign a unique internal identifier to track future visits. This information is used to gather aggregate demographic information and personalize information shown on the Platform. This information is kept for internal use and not shared with others.

Information Security

OverstockedCars maintains reasonable safeguards to protect the security, integrity, and privacy of the information that you provide to us. However, no security system is impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee the security of the information we collect, nor can we guarantee that the information you supply won't be intercepted while being transmitted to us over the Internet.

Opting Out or Unsubscribe

Providing personal information is entirely voluntary; however, if information is essential for providing certain services, we cannot provide those services without it.

You may opt out of email communications regarding marketing and promotions by replying with an unsubscribe request, or by contacting us using the details in the Contact page. You may opt out of both email and text-message communications by sending requests to our Contact address. Following opt-out requests, you will be removed from the relevant lists within 10 business days.

If you remain an active registered user after opting out, we may still send important notices or updates regarding your current Platform use.

State Privacy Rights

California Residents

Shine the Light: California residents may request how personal information is shared with third parties, what categories have been shared in the preceding year, and the names and addresses of those third parties by contacting us via our Contact page.

California residents wishing to opt out of disclosure of personal information to third parties for marketing purposes may contact us via our Contact page. Even after opting out, you may still receive selected offers directly from OverstockedCars in accordance with applicable law.

Browser "Do Not Track" signals: As required by the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA), we inform you that — as is the case with most websites — we do not honor or alter our behavior when a user has activated the "Do Not Track" setting on their browser.

Nevada Residents

Nevada residents have the right to submit opt-out requests instructing OverstockedCars not to sell "covered information" collected about them to any third-party data broker. Covered information includes name, postal and email address, telephone number, and Social Security Number. To exercise this right, contact us via our Contact page. Allow up to thirty (30) days for a response.

Colorado, Connecticut, and Virginia Residents

Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, and Virginia have the following rights under applicable state law, subject to certain exceptions:

Right to know and access: request up to twice in a 12-month period what personal data OverstockedCars collects, uses, discloses, and/or sells.
Right to delete: request deletion of personal data under certain circumstances.
Right to opt out: opt out of targeted advertising, sale of personal data, and profiling decisions that could produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Right to correct: request correction of inaccurate personal data.
Right to data portability: obtain data in a portable and, to the extent technically feasible, readily usable format.
Right to provide affirmative consent: we cannot process sensitive data or use personal data for certain purposes without affirmative consent.
Right to non-discrimination: you will not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising the rights described above.
